TOTAL PROGRAMME
FRESH is more than a book. It can be used a programme for CUs for the first five weeks of term. You will find resources to help your CU make the most of the start of term by helping Christian freshers get stuck into CU and church but also ideas for making the most of the evangelistic opportunities of the first few CU meetings.

BUY THE BOOK

fresh - book.jpgWhy not aim to get every Christian fresher arriving at university to read FRESH.  Getting students to read the book will help them get help to meet the challenges they face in the often make or break first few weeks of uni life. The book covers all the things that a CU would want Christians students to be enthused about...
Faith
Relationships
Evangelism
Studies
Holiness

Faith - being sure of what we believe, learning how to deal with doubt
Relationships - learning how to be generous in friendship, how to get stuck into CU and church
Evangelism - discovering ways God can use us to help others know him
Study - how we can worship God through our  subjects
Holiness - how we can develop principles to live lives worthy of Christ at university and how we can find grace when we mess up.

Practical suggestions for using the book in CU:
1. Encourage every fresher to buy the book as part of joining the CU. You can buy the book direct form IVP (postage free). But it would be great to have mulitple copies available for sale on the fresher's fair - talk to a CU staffworker about this. The publisher IVP are also making bulk-buy packs available at up to half-price to help CUs buy in quantity for freshers - click here for full details and to make your purchase.

2. Encourage students to read the book together - take a chapter a day and then post comments as they go on the fresh facebook group and on your CU facebook group. Freshers could use the book as part of their daily time with God. The chapters are short enough to be read in a few minutes.

3.  Encourage CU members that there are more resources available on freshspace.org

Download the free small group study guide below.

The guide takes a key passage from the Bible related to the theme and finds creative ways to help students engage with it and practical advice on how small group leaders can effectively help freshers in these first crucial few weeks.
